Multiple Drones Spotted Near LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, Security on High Alert
A video showing tracer rounds illuminating the night sky, while an invisible stream of lead went for the kill had parallels with what the country saw during last year's Operation Sindoor
Srinagar/New Delhi:Sources say that the Indian Army shot at a Pakistani drone in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir, which is close to the Line of Control (LoC), this evening. They said they saw a few more drones.
A video of tracer rounds lighting up the night sky while an invisible stream of lead went for the kill was similar to what the country saw during Operation Sindoor last year.
The army is looking around to see if the drones dropped guns or drugs. A drone that came from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) dropped a shipment of weapons in the Samba sector yesterday.
The army said that the drones were shot at with machine guns.
At 6:35 p.m., another drone was seen in the Rajouri district. Officials said that the flying object with the blinking light came from Dharmsal village in Kalakote and flew toward Bharakh. They said they saw something that looked like a drone with a blinking light hovering over Chak Babral village in the Ramgarh sector of Samba around 7:15 p.m. At 6:25 p.m., another drone-like object was seen moving from Tain to Topa in the Mankote sector of Poonch district, which is along the LoC.
During Operation Sindoor, India shot down a number of Pakistani drones. After that, there were a lot fewer reports of drone sightings. However, today there were reports of at least five Pakistani drones entering the country in one day.
Pakistan uses drones to drop weapons and drugs on Indian land and to help terrorist groups that the government supports.
