A suspected case of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) has triggered a major health alert in Bengaluru after a 28-year-old woman from Uganda developed symptoms associated with the deadly virus. Health authorities immediately isolated the patient and initiated emergency surveillance protocols across the city.

According to reports, the woman arrived in Bengaluru on May 23 and later complained of mild body pain and fever-like symptoms. She was shifted to a designated quarantine and treatment facility for observation and testing. Officials confirmed that samples have been sent for laboratory analysis, while no confirmed Ebola case has yet been reported in India.

The Karnataka Health Department has intensified monitoring at airports and other international entry points following the World Health Organization’s declaration of the Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa as a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern.”

Authorities have urged citizens not to panic, emphasizing that precautionary measures, isolation facilities, and rapid response systems are already in place. Bengaluru hospitals and surveillance teams remain on high alert to prevent any possible spread.
