Cricketer Rinku Singh's Father Passes Away After Prolonged Battle with Liver Cancer

Former spinner Harbhajan Singh confirmed on social media on Friday that Rinku Singh's father, Khanchand Singh, had died after a long battle with stage-4 liver cancer.

"I'm sad to hear that Shri Khanchand Singh Ji, Rinku Singh's father, has passed away." "Rinku and his family must be going through a very hard time right now, but he is still doing his job during the T20 World Cup," Harbhajan wrote on X.

"My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. He also said, "May Waheguru give the departed soul eternal peace and give the grieving family strength and courage."

Rinku's father was in serious condition and needed help breathing at a hospital in Greater Noida. This made the batter fly back home earlier this week.

Rinku did, however, rejoin the team in time for the Super Eight match against Zimbabwe. However, he was not in the starting XI because Sanju Samson was chosen instead. He did, however, play in the game as a substitute fielder.

India's win over Zimbabwe was very important, and now the "Men in Blue" will go to Kolkata for their last Super 8 match against the West Indies.

The game against the West Indies will be like a quarterfinal. The winner will move on to the semifinals after India beat Zimbabwe and the West Indies lost badly to South Africa.
