Updates on Cyclone Ditwah Tracker LIVE: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Cyclone Ditwah weakened into a deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal and kept moving north at a speed of 10 kmph. The IMD said, "The Deep Depression (Remnant of Cyclonic Storm Ditwah) over southwest Bay of Bengal and the nearby north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts moved northwards at a speed of 10 kmph during the past 6 hours and lay centred at 1800 UTC of the 30th November 2025 over the same region, near latitude 12.3°N and longitude 80.6°E, about 90 km south-southeast of Chennai (42379), 90 km eastsoutheast of Puducherry (43331), 110 km east-northeast of Cuddalore (43329), 180 km northnortheast of Karaikal (43346).
According to officials, the last group of Indian citizens who were stuck in Sri Lanka were evacuated as New Delhi stepped up its help to Colombo's rescue efforts for the victims of Cyclone Ditwah. The last group of Indian travellers stuck at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo has made it home. The High Commission said on X that "104 stranded Indians reached Thiruvananthapuram on IAF_MCC aircraft at about 6:30 am today."
Flight services were affected: Two IndiGo flights between Chennai International Airport and Jaffna International Airport in Sri Lanka were cancelled early on Sunday because of Cyclone Ditwah, which has killed at least 153 people in the neighbouring country, according to Reuters. The cyclone moved north overnight and is now centred over the southwestern Bay of Bengal and the nearby North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts.
